It wasn’t took long ago that, it was virtually impossible to meet ‘someone you could possibly be interested in’, unless they were a friend of the family, a friend of a friend, a co-worker, someone you went to school with, or someone you met while traveling.

Telephone chat lines were available and frequently used, but around 10 years ago, this has all changed with the advancement of computer technology and its networking ability. Now many races, cultures, and genders are able to intermingle via various forms of communication; text, email, tweets, Facebook, Skype and more.  Even though this knowledge is ultimately great in context, it has affected the intimacy which exists between humans and their counterparts.

Dating, has evolved; singles share their height, weight, financial status, hair, skin color and more in hopes of making a special connection.  The modern dating scene is not limited to online dating; we also have cell phone applications, reality shows such as Millionaire Matchmaker and The Bachelor, and speed dating.

Although this type of social scene is ‘not for everyone’, it definitely has its pros.  Supporters say there’s something superb about being able to weed out the ones who won’t fit into their lifestyle, and narrowing the choices to the ones who will.  It all makes sense – just think about the failure of past relationships and the making of future ones.
