While engaged in an intense tweet marathon, rapper Kanye West announced plans for starting his own design company, named DONDA, after his late mother. West outlined his proposal in a series of tweets earlier this week, approximately 70 total. West believes his company l “will galvanize amazing thinkers and put them in a creative space to bounce their dreams and ideas.” The company will be comprised of 22 divisions, whose goal is to create products and experience that customers would want and can afford.

For this project, West said he is “assembling a team of architects, graphic designers, directors, musicians, producers, writers, publicists, social media experts, app guys, managers, car designers, clothing designers, DJs, video game designers, publishers, tech guys, lawyers, bankers, nutritionists, doctors, scientists and teachers.”

All the details concerning Kanye’s newest project are yet to beconfirmed but one of his goals is to create a positive change in the world, using his influence. “We can collectively affect the world through design,” he tweeted. “We need to pick up where Steve Jobs left off.”

Even though the rapper is known for his materialistic lyrics, he claims to be using his money to invest in different forms of creativity. Kanye tweeted, “My area of expertise is in music, my passion is in music design, film, and products; my strength is connectivity.” As a person also rooting for those in creative fields, I hope his company stands up to all he claims it will.
