
His name is synonymous with the ever chic and classic Chanel brand. The creative genius has illustrated elaborate collections for both H&M and Macy’s and now is venturing into a masstige line. This rock and roll flavored line is to debut on net-a-porter.com starting January 25, 2012.
Lagerfeld has already done a few affordable collaborations’ with both H&M and Macy’s. For Macy’s Impulse department, he did a capsule collection of 45 pieces that included flirty dresses, thick tweedy separates (shorts and vests), and faux leather jackets. The collection was priced $50 to $170 and was sold in 235 Macys’ across the nation and on macys.com starting August 31,2011. In 2004 Karl kicked off his design collaborations by doing a 30-piece partnership collection with H&M.
The Karl collection will be composed of 100 pieces priced from $95-$450. Fans can expect silvery jeans, vests, and black cocktail dresses with plunging backs, fingerless gloves, and detachable collars. All pieces in the Karl line are done in a black and white color palette, the epitome of rocker chic.
Aimed at females in their late teens and early twenties, the collection boasts leather and denim, two members of the badass club. Availability of the line is limited to the web, because of its effectiveness to communicate with a wider range of the young demographic. A sneak peak of the line was showed December 7th. The next time people are able to view Karl they will most likely be purchasing!
