Today kicked off fall week 12’. Fashion editors, bloggers, celebrities, and everyone on the list (VIP of course) came out in support of the first day of this eight-day fashion event. By the end of this week (Feb 16) new trends, inspirations, and silhouettes will be ready to be created on everyday Fashionistas.

BCBG Max Ariza was the show to kick start the week with a continuation of clock blocking. This time around the trend is seen with new color combinations in geometric patterns. A few of the looks incorporated a print one of the blocks of colors; a new twist on the ongoing trend. Sheer weights, leather, and fur were juxtaposed to create a heavier look for fall.

Richard Chai Love mixed androgyny, stripes, and florals in his. Boxy silhouettes were belted to give shape and anoraks made numerous appearances on the runway, in different corduroy options, in grey, navy and black.

Tadashi Shoji sent stunning 1920’s inspired flapper dresses down her catwalk. Dresses were delicately detailed in lace, which made statements in bold hues like emerald, tangerine, purple, and soft crème hues.

These are just a few of the shows that kicked off this weeklong event. There are still so many new faces and famous talent to been seen. The Mercedes Benz NY Fashion Week schedule can be found on the site (http://www.mbfashionweek.com/schedule). Enjoy following the shows this week, there is so much to see! (Feb. 9-16) Based on the latter the rest of the week is sure to be a fashionable success.
