They say motherhood really matures a woman, I believe Nicole Richie is a wonderful example of this. Once a wild party girl and partner in crime to Paris Hilton, the mother of two is now a reality show host as well as designer. Her epitome line, ‘Winter Kate,’ started off with blouses and maxis. Richie told Ocean Drive Magazine last month, she has hopes of growing the brand further and eventually making it a lifestyle brand. Speaking of fashion projects, we can’t forget her amazing accessories line, ‘House of Harlow’.

Just as she set her mind to ventures, the doting mother and talented designer is taking another step into fashion branding, this time by launching a line for QVC. It was set to launch February 24, two nights prior to the Oscars. This line is all about affordable fashion, with a bohemian vibe. Pieces include printed maxi dresses, “cascade” jackets, and textured leather hobo bags , with a price point between $74 and $257. In the months following the launch and initial pieces, blouses, dresses , skirts, and additional handbag styles are expected to be added.

Ms. Richie is excited for her newest project because it gives her an opportunity to design for a broader range of women. This collection is part of the QVC network’s “Buzz on the Red Carpet” event. The designer was joined by QVC stars, such as Heidi Klum and the Kardashians, who offered tips for making red carpet trends work in everyday life. Don’t forget to check out Ms. Richie on Fashion Star set to air March 13,2012 at 9:30pm on NBC. She is one of the fashionable mentors!
