I have been so impressed with the international style genius’s putting on these beautiful shows around the globe. Fashion binds cultures together, by telling designers stories through shapes, cuts and fabric choices. It’s quite whimsical when you think about it. Aside from the beauty aspect is of course, the hard work done to achieve the final look. It takes someone with talent to design and create works of art; Naeem Khan is definitely one of them.

Naeem Khan is the go to guy for all things elegant and red carpet ready. With a clientele of names like Beyonce, Eva Longoria, Kim Cattrall and First Lady Michelle Obama, this designer takes his craft very seriously. His luxurious collection consists of impeccably cut dress, gowns and chic separates, which are all embroidered by hand. A native of India, he pulls inspiration from various dimensions of his hometown and upbringing. Both his father and grandfather are known in India for designing intricate clothing for royal families. All of this to say skilled hands run in the family.

Khan launched his eponymous collection, Naeem Khan in 2003 that could be found at Bergdorf Goodman, Harrods, Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue. Since then he has grown and his line is sold in over 100 specialty stores. Aside from all of that, his shows are one of the most anticipated ones during NYFW, and with good reason.

The fall 2012 collection just shown, included vibrant color palettes, fabrics and prints. The dresses seen in the show took 600 pairs of hands to make. Both Edith Head and Ava Gardner in The Barefoot Contessa served as muses for the collection. Some dresses were more daring than others, but all of them were timeless. Pieced together by hand, with love from Naeem Khan and his team.
