If you are a frozen yogurt fanatic, than you may want to take a visit to Tucson’s local frozen yogurt shop, the Parlour. It is located on 611 N. 4th avenue in Arizona.  Fourth Ave., as it is known to the Tucson natives, encompasses a biker-friendly environment. It stretches across 6 blocks, complete with numerous independently-owned restaurants, shops, and bars.  Fourth Ave. is a great place for tourists with a desire to experience Tucson’s unique ‘small town’ feel.  It’s very close to the University of Arizona, making it a popular spot for the students every day of the week.

Frozen yogurt enthusiasts have coined the frozen treat as “froyo,” providing a very trendy appeal. If you’re looking for some dessert without overindulging your stomach or wallet, then the Parlour will definitely satisfy your needs!

Recently, I attended the Spring 4th. Ave. Street Fair, and decided to try out the Parlour.  The unique aspect about this yogurt shop is the fact that they do not weigh by the ounce, like the majority of its competitors. Instead, there are two (2) cup sizes, that are labeled at a permanent price of $3 or $5, depending upon the strength of your sweet tooth. This is very appealing to college students in particular, since it allows them to fill their cup of frozen yogurt with as many toppings as they want, without the worry of  paying double digits for some dessert. You get the most for your money by not paying by the ounce.

As for my personal experience, I was warmly welcomed by the employees who allowed me to try samples of all the flavors. It is a self-serve style format, where you can choose as many flavors as you would like to place in your cup. There are multiple toppings, ranging from fruit to candy, that you can add. The best part? You can load up that cup as high as your heart desires, since you know the price in advance!
