The Chinese New Year celebration begins on January 23rd. This day marks the beginning of the Year of the Dragon. Here are three delicious dragon cocktails you can make for your Chinese New Year party.
Dragon Mojito
2 oz white rum
2 tbsp dragon fruit flesh
1-2 pieces dragon fruit skin
12-15 mint leaves
½ lime
Ice
3 oz soda water
In the bottom of a highball glass, muddle the dragon fruit skin and flesh, mint, and juice from the lime. Add the rum and stir. Fill with ice and top with soda water. Garish with extra mint and a lime wedge.
Green Dragon
1 ½ oz Midori melon liqueur
Champagne
Add Midori to a chilled champagne flute. Top with champagne and mix gently. Serve immediately.
Water Dragon
1 oz Blue Curacao
1 oz vodka
1 oz of pineapple juice (or to taste)
ice
soda water
lemon twist
Mix vodka and Blue Curacao in a chilled shaker with ice. Shake and strain into a tall ice-filled glass. Add a splash of pineapple juice – to taste – and top off with soda water. Garnish with a lemon twist.
