Synopsis:

A prestigious New York ballet company is practicing an adaptation of Swan Lake in which one dancer will be chosen to play both the White Swan (innocent) and the Black Swan (sensual and dark). The main character, Nina, wants both parts but everyone believes she is perfect for the White Swan role only. Lily, a late-comer, is seen as the perfect Black Swan. Nina finds more and more of her dark side emerging as she competes for the role.

You’ll wonder how Nina ever made it to adulthood with a mother like hers. One has to question if Nina’s psychosis is inherited.

This movie is truly chilling. It has parts where you’ll cringe back from the screen. Some of you may even cover your eyes.

Natalie Portman won an Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in this film.  Aronofsky received a nomination for Best Director and the film received a nomination for Best Film.

On a scale of 1 through 5,

1= I wasted my time, they wasted their time

5= Excellente!  I want everyone to see this!

I rate Black Swan a 4 (This was pretty good.)
