Cooper-Hewitt that demonstrate how design can address the world’s most critical issues, opens
Oct. 15 at the United Nations and runs through Jan. 9, 2012. Organized by Cynthia E. Smith, the
museum’s curator of socially responsible design, the exhibition will feature more than 60 projects from 23 countries around the globe. Admission to the exhibition will be free of charge.

New York, NY–The Economist will hold its World In 2012 Festival in New York City in early December. The festival celebrates the 26th edition of The Economist’s successful The World in…publication, which contains a collection of predictions and trends for the year ahead. The two-day event begins on December 1st with a gala dinner at The Angel Orensanz Foundation For The Arts and is followed by a day of discussion and debate on December 3rd at Cooper Union. Alec Baldwin, George Stephanopoulos, Moby and many other notable figures in politics, business, sports, arts and more will participate in the festival.
