Like diamonds, high heels are a girl’s best friend. While this fact may seem amusing, it was proven true a very long time ago. During the 16th century, European royalty started wearing high-heeled shoes to make them look taller or larger than life. By 1580, men also wore them, and all this time I was under the assumption that Prince (the singer) did that first. Go figure! One cool tidbit about back then is that a person with authority or wealth was often referred to as “well-heeled”.
